Dec 31, 2023
What does the LGBTQ+ flag mean?
The LGBTQ+ flag, also known as the Pride flag, is a symbol of pride for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) individuals and LGBTQ+ social movements. The flag is a rainbow, with each color representing a different aspect of the community.
Hot pink: This color represents sexuality.
Red: This color represents life.
Orange: This color symbolizes healing.
Yellow: This color signifies sunlight.
Green: This color denotes nature.
Turquoise: This color represents magic and art.
Blue: This color represents serenity.
Purple: This color symbolizes spirit.
Over time, the flag has evolved, and some versions have removed the hot pink and turquoise stripes for various reasons. Despite these changes, the flag remains a powerful symbol of diversity and unity within the LGBTQ+ community.
